Professional Background
With his many years of experience caring for elite athletes, recreational athletes and people of all ages with knee problems, Prof. Janousek finds solutions even for the most complex knee conditions.
Prof. Dr Andreas Janousek is an internationally recognised specialist in the treatment of knee injuries and knee disorders. As head of the Knee Working Group of the Austrian Society for Trauma Surgery, he is also responsible for the training and further education of future knee specialists.
Thanks to international training posts at the Orthopaedic University Hospital in Heidelberg with its Olympic training centre, at Sunnybrook Medical Center in Toronto and at the Center for Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as ongoing international advanced training, Prof. Janousek is always up to date with the latest medical knowledge. He personally attends national and international congresses and regularly gives lectures on the knee, meniscus and cruciate ligament. This ensures that his treatments are always based on the most current standards.
He is team doctor of the men’s World Cup squad of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), club doctor of the football club First Vienna FC and the WAC ice hockey club, and association doctor of the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation. He has also looked after the professional team of the football club SK Rapid, the professional team of the Wiener Park Club, and has served as team doctor of the Austrian national American football team.

Professional Background
Dr Michael Jesenko was born in Carinthia and moved to Vienna to study medicine. In addition to treating general orthopaedic conditions, he specialises in the management of sports injuries and the consequences of accidents. He completed his specialist training in orthopaedics and traumatology at the Orthopaedic Hospital Gersthof and later at Floridsdorf Clinic.
Alongside his medical degree, he completed additional courses of study. In cooperation between the Medical University of Vienna and the Centre for Sports Science and University Sports (USI) at Schmelz, he obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH), focusing on the care of athletes, health promotion and disease prevention.
He then completed a Master’s degree in Health Management (MBA) and a Master’s degree in Advanced Orthopaedics and Traumatology (MSc). These programmes focused specifically on up-to-date concepts for treating orthopaedic and trauma cases, based on the latest scientific evidence.
Since the opening of Floridsdorf Clinic, he has been working there as deputy head of the Sports Outpatient Clinic, where his main focus is the treatment of injuries and degenerative conditions of the knee, shoulder and ankle. At Floridsdorf Clinic he also heads the 3D printing unit, which makes it possible to visualise bone deformities and complex bone damage using a modern 3D printer. He has already presented the results of his work at several conferences, including in Leuven, Belgium.

Professional Background
Dr Felix Schatzl was born and raised in Vienna. He studied medicine here and then completed his specialist training in orthopaedics and traumatology at Floridsdorf Clinic. Already during his residency he focused clinically on sports and foot surgery.
To deepen his expertise, he obtained the Certificate in Foot Surgery from the German Association for Foot and Ankle (D.A.F.). His training took him beyond Austria to international institutions such as the University Hospital in Zurich.
His passion for sports medicine has its roots in his own past as an active basketball player. This personal experience sparked an early interest in the prevention and treatment of injuries. Today, Dr Schatzl brings this knowledge to the professional care of athletes: he is club and association doctor for First Vienna Football Club, for the basketball club WAT Landstraße Capricorns, and for the Austrian Skibob Federation.
